How Do You Know If Your Marriage Will Survive?

by Mark Power

Is there any way that we can know for certain if if our marriage is going to thrive or fall apart? Maybe not, but this article is going to explain how you will know for sure if your marriage will fail. If you had to pick one thing that would decide whether or not your marriage would survive or not, what do you think it would be?

Most people will actually say "conflict". If you are always fighting then that can't be good for your marriage, right? Wrong

Some people may not believe this but it is actually the opposite of that. In fact there are studies that show how avoiding conflict is the number determining factor whether you are destined for divorce or not. Ironic isn't it? We really think that we are saving our marriage by avoiding conflict but truth be told we are doing the complete opposite and destroying it

I really hope that you did not take that the wrong way. I am not saying that you should stop reading this and go hunt down your spouse and start a brawl. Let's face it fighting doesn't make for happy marriage either. But I am saying that if you have a healthy marriage then you probably fight. Having disputes is actually a good sign that you are still in love with one another. To be happily married you need to learn how to fight well.

People who have mastered the proper way to discuss their difference have successful marriages. But this is often not something that come naturally. This is an art that you need to learn. Once you learn how to have healthy disagreements then you will find that when you fight it will actually help your marriage move forward.

I don't care who you are, every successful couple has their disagreements because it is a fact that no two people are 100% compatible. Having your differences is a very healthy part of a good marriage.

The key to succeeding in marriage is not finding the right person; it's learning to fight well with the person you found. You'll have "irreconcilable differences" with anyone you pick. The question is whether or not you can learn to discuss them.
