by Stella Gay

The Native Americans have always been the ancestors of the original America before the Pilgrims settled and slowly began to take over the land. Of course there are still big tribes that have still survived up until today and are doing a very good job blending in with modernization and still keeping their roots. One of the biggest of these groups would of course be the famous Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes.

Now this group is a united group that would consist of two separate tribes that decided to form a union. Now these two tribes are the Arapahos and the Cheyennes. Now they have their main headquarters which is located in Oklahoma and they have roughly around ten to twelve thousand members in their group.

Of course before delving into what this group is about, it will be better to know about the two tribes this group consists of. The first one would be the Arapaho people who originated in Wyoming and also settled in Colorado. Now what makes this tribe quite famous is that they have grabbed a big share of market in both the gaming and tobacco industries.

Now the second one would be the Cheyenne people who are not as big time as the first one but equally powerful. Now basically, they originated from the land that is known as Minnesota today and are called the indigenous people of the Great White Plains. Now although the two groups were allies before, they were separate from each other. It was only in the year 1937 that they united together to form their own fused government.

Now because of their union, they were able to successfully take a really big share of the gaming industry. Now they are very known in both the gaming and the tobacco industries because they own four very big casinos as well as a few smoke shops that would cater to the smokers. Now for those who do not know, they are the ones that own the Luck Star Clinton Casino, the Luck Star Concho Casino, The Feather Warrior Canton Casino, and the Feather Warrior Watonga casino.

Aside from that, they even have their own television stations as well as their own newspapers. In their newspapers, they would showcase first local news and of course international news. Their television channels would focus on preserving the Native American culture by showing programs related to their culture.

As for schools, they have their own college that is associated with the Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Now some of the courses that they would offer would be general studies, Native American studies, and tribe management. The campus can be found in Oklahoma and is run by a Dr. Henrietta Mann.

So as one can see, the union of these two tribes have definitely made them a strong group that can lead their own government. They were able to develop their group by increasing their revenues by putting up businesses, spreading and preserving their culture through media, and of course providing quality education to their people. They are definitely a very efficient group of people.
