Avoid These Mistakes When Doing A Suntan Lotion Review

by Haywood Hunter

Millions of dollars are spent every year on products intended to keep us healthy. People are very conscience of their healthy needs and try to do everything they can to protect themselves and stay healthy. It is essential to do a suntan lotion review before choosing the product that is right for you.

Recently the Food and Drug Administration better known as the FDA made some changes to how producers can label suntan lotion. Labeling was not trustworthy preceding this change. Today the bottle must have the protection of UVA (ultraviolet-A) and UVB (ultraviolet-B) separated so the consumer is aware of how much protection they are getting from each type of ray. Consumers will also notice there are not as many containers labeled "waterproof" or "all-day" because the makers of the lotions must now prove those claims before labeling their products with these claims.

When walking into a local merchant a customer will notice they can purchase sun protection from gels to spray on sunscreen and they can even purchase items specifically suited for the lips, eyes, or nose. Choose the product you are most comfortable applying. Remember to buy the one that offers the most SPF protection.

SPF is the abbreviation for sun-protection factor, and is usually reported in numbers such as 15 SPF or 100 SPF. This indicates how much sunburn protection the product provides. Do not rely on the SPF factor to determine how long it will take to get a sunburn because there are other factors that affect the amount of time it takes to burn. That will depend on where you are at, how long you are exposed to the son, and the time of day.

One of the main problems with sunscreen protection is that consumers often do not apply enough. If an adequate amount of the product is not applies it greatly reduces the effectiveness of sun protection. When applying sunscreen a minimum of five to six teaspoons must be put on. It is better to put too much then not enough. Always rub on the first time 30 minutes before sun exposure.

Sunscreen can offer protection from UVA rays, UVB rays or both. A broad-spectrum sunscreen, which offers protection from both rays, is suggested for most people. However, baby's less than 6 months old cannot use sunscreen because the chemicals used to protect from the sun may harm their skin. Always pick one that offers the highest possible SPF.

As we choose a healthier lifestyle, one of the main products we can purchase is suntan lotion. Remember to do your research and choose a product that is going to offer you the most protection possible from the harmful sun's rays. To limit the amount of damage the sun does to your skin use sunscreen every day.

Checking out information contained in a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kpJ34wpyTs">suntan lotion review</a> page will help you to pick for your lifestyle. When it comes to safe <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Sun-Tanning-Lotion-Ultra-Instant/dp/B0009V8N5E">tanning self</a> or sunless products are the top choice.
