Inpatient medical coding is becoming extremely challenging for most companies. Most addicts cannot afford to get into a treatment facility for various reasons. Insurance is a big issue today with most treatment centers. The reason for this is that most people that are asking for treatment do not receive treatment because they lack the medical insurance that is necessary. It is important to offer insurance clients a substance abuse extension on their policy if you know they need treatment.

Most addicts walk away frustrated because they don't know what to do. It is important as an insurance agent to ask addicts questions if they are seeking help.
Right now there are thousands of addicts looking for help. Many free clinics and hospitals turn them away because of long waiting lists. If someone is addicted to heroin, they cannot wait months to get help or even weeks. They often need help within 24 hours or else they can have a drug overdose. The overdose is often lethal and toxic to the system. Heroin is a drug that takes the lives of many young men and women under the age of 30. Insurance companies often do not tell someone about substance abuse extensions that they can have on their policy. Is it because the insurance agent doesn't care enough to tell someone or are they being instructed by their company to not willingly tell people about it?
There is nothing more painful than to turn someone away that needs treatment. Treatment often makes people feel like they want help and don't know where to go for it. Most treatment centers will turn addicts away because they don't have the proper insurance. Insurance often helps people to get into treatment. Many insurance companies will pay close to 80% for inpatient care and detox. However, many addicts don't know what kind of insurance to get. Many people think that just having any old insurance will get them into any facility.
We are seeing a growing demand for treatment from many suburban American families. Many heroin addicts are coming from suburban areas and families are often turned away from treatment because the addicts lack having the correct insurance policy to get help. If a family knows that there addicted loved one needs help, they need to understand how they can get insurance to pay for treatment. It is a hard battle for any family to have to go through.
