The Quiet Call Of The Inner Voice
by Evan Sanders
Sometimes, while it is difficult, we have to have incredibly honest conversation with ourselves about what is going on in our life and how we are being.
I know when it is about to occur because I get this wave of energy from the base of my neck down to my back and I feel my mood start to change. I once was frightened of it, the sensation of water about dripping down my back, but in time I've learned how to get used to it.
These moments are beautiful. They are full of honesty, truth, emotion, and a tingling sensation of being alive.
Under the surface of our lives there are many things that will surprise us. Hidden thoughts, emotions, worries, doubts, fears, visions, and everything else in the book. The future is hidden from us as much as we try to project upon it. There's also the past - this grand adventure of old that we might not have healed through fully which can also bubble up.
There's this balance between moving forward in life completely and looking back to heal the wounds of old. The thing is, without healing the past you will never fully be able to run into the future at full tilt. You may be able to move around and live a happy life but you will never fully be the person you could be if you don't heal.
The best advice for someone who is struggling is to sit with it and let it pass. They need to let it all flow through their body and take it's rounds inside. Why? Because the only way you can really understand what something really means to you, especially in a relationship, is by experiencing the aftermath of uncontrollable emotions running rampant inside.
Take some time to be incredibly honest with yourself.
Don't run or hide from feelings that you would associate as negative. Life has a very interesting way of balancing you out right when you need it. When you attempt to block feelings out or manipulate them, you are putting yourself in a very shaky place. Let life do what it has to do to keep you learning and growing.
The moments of our life, especially the hard ones, can teach us many many things about living. They can teach us what really matters to us, what is possible for ourselves and why we feel the way we feel. The only time we cut ourselves off from experiencing life fully is when we try to run and hide from these thoughts and emotions. Don't. Stay on the field playing the game.
